Hughes Noff Tax Law is pleased to welcome David Deslatte to the team as an Enrolled Agent. David joins the firm after retiring from a thirty-seven-year career with the IRS. He began his career as a Revenue Officer, working directly with taxpayers and representatives to resolve their IRS tax debts. For the majority of his career, he specialized in negotiating debt settlements in the IRS Offer in Compromise Program.
He spent over a decade as a senior analyst in the national headquarters of the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), a division of the IRS whose mission is to reduce taxpayer burden and protect taxpayer rights. Upon retirement from the IRS he received the Albert Gallatin Award, the U.S. Treasury’s highest honorary career service award.
David brings to the firm an in-depth knowledge of the IRS that is unique in the tax controversy industry. He uses his experience to identify the best available options for clients based on the unique facts and circumstances of their situation. He is committed to empowering clients by educating them about IRS procedures and how to avoid future compliance issues.
